About

Education

University of Wisconsin - River Falls. Bachelor of Science from the department of Geography and Mapping Sciences.

Experience

I have acquired professional experience in Geography and GIS starting as an Intern at Pointmap Inc. during my Junior year at UW-River Falls. In October of 2014 I started working as a full-time GIS/City Planning Intern for the City of River Falls, WI. My time here has helped refine my skills using software such as: ArcGIS, Adobe (CS6) and Microsoft Office. I assist the Community Development Department in acquiring, displaying and presenting data as a means to illustrate spatial relationships throughout the city for other departments, boards/commissions, consultants, developers and real estate brokers. This experience has given me an understanding of the planning process as well as the dynamic interactions of local city government.

Skills

Throughout my education and work experience I have received training in the software of ArcMap, Illustrator, Flash, IDRISI as well as CAD. The understanding of these programs allow me to create a diversity of both static and dynamic maps in order to explain a spatial phenomenon.

Interests

In addition to my appreciation for spatial research and the mapping process, other activities that I enjoy include: hiking, photography, canoeing, reading as well as traveling. These hobbies work to help define and supplement my geographic personality.
